Front of House Manager (hospitality, F&B)

Job Introduction

As Front of House Manager, you'll maintain a food and beverage service which delivers the highest possible standards of service, presentation and customer care to all users of the facilities. You'll lead and manage the day to day activities of two military restaurants and a Bar facility for junior Service personnel.

You'll drive retail and leisure performance through adherence to all promotional activity and marketing initiatives, promoting and managing functions including planning, menus and costings in conjunction with the catering team, ensuring standards of service detailed in the contract are achieved, maintained and developed.

RNAS Culdrose is home to the Royal Navy’s Merlins plus a sizable proportion of its Sea Kings, Culdrose – just outside Helston on the Lizard Peninsula – is the largest helicopter base in Europe with some 75 aircraft and 3,000 personnel. It is the biggest single-site employer in Cornwall.

Role Responsibility

  • Maintain a food and beverage service which delivers the highest possible standards of service, presentation and customer care to all users of the facilities; to meet the Customer and Client requirements to the highest standards. 
  • Lead and manage the day to day activities of two military restaurants and a Bar facility for junior Service personnel. To drive retail and leisure performance through adherence to all promotional activity and marketing initiatives.
  • Promote and manage functions including planning, menus and costings in conjunction with the catering team.
  • Ensure standards of service detailed in the Service Level Agreement and within the Schedules of the contractual Terms and Conditions are achieved, maintained and developed.
  • Grow services in order to meet client and commercial expectations whilst maintaining strict budgetary control in line with client and Sodexo expectations.
  • Continue to monitor food standards and hygiene standards and ensure they are maintained at the highest level.
  • Administer a business unit (Bar), and to input the relevant financial data onto retail systems;.daily use and interpretation of data to enable financial management of all operations.
  • Responsible for ordering, management and rotation of products relating to the Bar facility.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience of working in a similar role within the service industry at a comparable level in a company; front of house manager, food and beverage manager, hospitality
  • Proven experience in hospitality sector, including stock management, cash control and customer service
  • People management/supervisory
  • Basic food hygiene, HASAW and COSHH Certification.

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a military environment
  • Proven track record of leading, managing and developing a team
  • Proven experience of managing client relationships
