Fork Lift Truck Operative

Job Introduction

To ensure the prompt and efficient service of waste materials is removed from the factory following the company’s standard . Maintaining the cleanliness of the back yard to the required standard in the Service Level Agreement.  To be proactive and report anything that is outside of “normal operations”. 

  • Volume of waste produced
  • Following recycling procedures with instructions from both CCEP and Sodexo
  • Adhering to H&S regulations and Sodexo and CCEP local policies and procedures
 

Role Responsibility

  • To ensure that the removal of dry waste is done safe and efficiently to the back yard following client guidelines.
  • To ensure that the removal of wet waste is done in a safe and efficiently to the back yard
  • Move products from staging and / or storage areas
  • Wash and stack dirty skids and rotate ready for use
  • To understand and maintain the standards and integrity of the service offer and Service Level Agreement at all times.
  • To establish and maintain satisfactory relationships with individuals at all
  • Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area. Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety. 
  • Motivate and lead employees to perform their roles to a high standard and in alignment to Sodexo policies and procedures
  • To maintain good client relationships at all time
  • To ensure all unit audit scores are achieved to set margins
  • Complete fork lift operators training provided by the industry leader
  • To ensure that appropriate training is given for the duties you undertake in Health & Safety, Fire Safety and any Equipment to meet company procedure and government standards.
  • Complete any reasonable requests made by the General Services Manager
    • Undertake all required training in relation to all aspects of the waste service delivered to the client and all Sodexo training as per training plan
    • Complete a schedule of tasks, as directed by work instructions or CCEP/Sodexo management
    • Wear the company uniform at all times whilst at work
    • Wear any items of personal protective equipment as per work instructions, H&S guidelines and management instructions
    • Follow waste and recycling procedures and actively promote good recycling reporting any contamination of waste to line manager and CCEP
    • Ensure all waste bins/containers are emptied as per schedule or requests adhering to the correct waste steams
    • Provide FLT cover to the lines as requested by CCEP
    • Complete pre work checklists as required by CCEP
    • Comply to all client policies/procedures in relation to housekeeping/infection control/security  
    • Follow all requirements in relation to COSHH and H&S guidelines
    • Follow the site/cleaning offer colour coding policy and adhere to at all times
    • Follow all requirements of the specified waste service as directed by the cleaning manager
    • Complete any ad hoc requests from clients or management team
    • Report all faults in relation to cleaning machinery/equipment to the cleaning manager.
    • Keep the waste hut and waste and recycling area clean and tidy during work times and at the end of shift
    • Comply with all Company and Client policies and procedures, statutory regulations relating to your work place, this will include but not limited to fire; health and safety; hygiene; working safely; CoSHH. Ensure the safety and security of company and client property
    • Complete all records as directed accurately and in timely manner
    • Report any incidents of accident, fire, theft, loss, damage, unfit food or other irregularities to line manager, taking appropriate action where possible
    • Report all complaints and compliments to line manager, taking action where practicable
    • Actively support and promote the “One Team” ethos of working and supporting between departments.
    • Cross train in other departments to gain skills to be able to provide cover if required
    • Any reasonable request from your line manager or other member of the Sodexo management team
     

The Ideal Candidate

  • Full Driving Licence is essential
  • Ability to achieve and set standards and operate to performance criteria, with particular regard to health and safety procedures
  • To hold a valid certificate to operate a FLT
  • Positive approach to learning in role and identifying training needs where appropriate
  • Self motivated
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers ,clients staff
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Literate
  • Numerate
  • Proven experience of managing similar site and duties
  • Ability to operate in a high speed and fast paced environment
