Food Support Assistant - Picking and Packing

Job Introduction

We currently have an opportunity for a Food Support Assistant - Picking and Packing to join our team. This is a great opportunity for a customer focused individual to join a world leading food and facilities management company, which can offer unrivalled opportunities for career progression.

Role Responsibility

  • Safe use of industrial catering equipment
  • Storing TVF foods after delivery
  • Decanting and labelling food items
  • Collection of patient menu orders on the day of service using a PDA,
  • Loading and regenerating food according to order
  • Cleaning of kitchen areas
  • Cleaning of industrial catering equipment
  • Preparation of ward food issues
  • Recording of temperatures and corrective actions in accordance with company policy
  • Printing via PC, picking and packing sheets
  • Stock rotation

Essential

  • Ability to use a PC
  • Ability to learn new skills
  • Ability to work safely at all times
  • Ability to follow instruction at all times
  • Good customer service skills
  • High standards of personal Hygiene
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Basic literacy skills
  • The ability to communicate effectively

Desired

  • Prior knowledge of a food environment
  • Good literacy skills

Package Description

We require an assistant to help within our busy Diet bay production area and to include picking and packing special diet meals and a weekly stock take the successful candidate will be required to operate a blast Freezer. This will entail keeping legal required documentation and temperature records up to date daily.

The working shift pattern is 10.00am to 1.00pm Monday to Friday
