Food Service Assistant
Job Introduction

Role Responsibility
- To assist as directed with all aspects of preparation and presentation to the Company's standards
- To provide an efficient and friendly service to customers in all areas of the catering department
- To ensure that food is presented and served in a clean, hygienic environment
- To assist at service times by serving the customer at the counter as directed, to the Company's standard
- To complete all necessary sales controls and documentation for each service
- To communicate well with customers and demonstrate a helpful attitude at all times
- To undertake all aspects in cleaning equipment to the Company’s standard according to the cleaning rota or as directed
- To ensure tables and accompaniments are kept as clean as is reasonably practicable and adequately stocked during service times and relay as required
- To load service counters as and when directed and to ensure sufficient supplies throughout the service period
- Fill and clean vending machines, record on Service cards
- Check deliveries and temperatures on delivery, also record food temperatures during service temperatures
- Operate till during service periods
- To fulfil any reasonable management request
- To attend/receive any job-related training as required
Additional Ad-hoc Duties:
- To assist at any special functions, some of which may occur outside working hours
- To report any customer complaints or compliments and take some remedial action if at all possible
- To report immediately any incidents of accident, fire, theft, loss, damage, unfit food, or other irregularities and take such action as may be appropriate or possible
- To attend meetings and training courses as may be necessary
- To provide cover in other areas during periods of holidays and sickness

Job Purpose
- To assistance in all catering duties, customer service, food preparation, cleaning and stock control
- To provide exceptional and outstanding customer service

- To ensure the food is presented and served in a clean and hygienic environment
- To assist at service times by serving the customers at the counters as directed, to the company’s standards.
- To complete all necessary sales controls and documentation for each service
- To communicate well with customers and colleagues on all levels and demonstrate a helpful and respectful attitude at all times
- To undertake vending and hospitality duties
- To undertake all aspects of good housekeeping
- To load the service counters as and when directed and to ensure sufficient supplies throughout the service period
- Fill and clean vending machines when needed, record the tasks
- Check the delivery temperature accordingly to our policies as well as record the temperatures during the service time
- Follow the allergen management and stock control procedures
- To assist in the other parts of the catering department where help and cover is needed (hospitality, vending, kitchen, production, coffee shop)
- Operate the tills during the service periods, check if the system is working
- To fulfil any reasonable management request
- To attend and receive any job related training as required
- To accept, check and store all deliveries accordinglyAccountabilities
- Comply with all Company and client policies, procedures and statutory regulations, including resources, site rules, health and safety, safe working practice, hygiene, cleanliness, fire, COSHH.
- To undertake cleaning duties including pot washing and use of commercial dishwasher when needed.
- To undertakes all deliveries ensuring they are stored as per Company policy.
- To undertake additional tasks as directed by the Line Manager.
- To undertake stock control, as directed by the Line Manager
- To assist with waste removal and monitoring
- To assist with hospitality if required.
- To serve customers in a quick, polite manner ensuring good customer service at all times and use Epos till if required.
- To complete any administration as requested including food temperatures, wastage and cleaning schedules etc.
- To ensure that the FOH/ BOH areas maintained in a clean, organised manner ensuring all food safety and health & safety policies and procedures are followed.
- To undertake training and comply with all company policies and procedures.
- To communicate to the customers and team in a polite and efficient manner.
- To raise any issues to the Catering Supervisor in a timely manner.
- To listen to and forward any customer suggestions or complaints to the line manager.
- To undertake Vending duties if required.
- To support , respect and work well with colleagues in any level
- To provide cover in other areas during the periods of sickness and holidays
- To stay flexible on the early/late demanding shift patterns and working areas

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- To deliver a consistent level of service, with Company standards, to the contract specification and agreed performance, qualitative and financial targets.
Comply with all Company and statutory regulations relating to safe systems of work, health & safety, hygiene, cleanliness, fire and COSHH.
- To be agreed with the Line Manager for particular location. K.P.I’s to be part of performance review and appraisal process.
