Finance Manager

Job Introduction

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Finance Manager who will be responsible for all aspects of commercial decision making, financial performance, financial control, and contractual negotiations and discussions on site at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

You will be responsible for driving continuously financial performance, delivery of the three year plan, initiating local revenue and profit growth projects and supporting the delivery of segment initiatives, whilst being responsible for accurate financial and management information.

Role Responsibility

  • Supervise and manage a team of 3, displaying Focus on Five behaviours, giving them clear direction, and including effective communication to ensure high levels of engagement Manage the on-going complexities of the contract and client expectations
  • Involvement in or lead discussions and negotiations with Trust and Project Co, influencing decision makers to achieve the best possible outcome
  • Provide expert financial and commercial advice to operational management, driving financial performance through commercially sound decision making and analysis
  • Produce management reporting and assist Site Director in developing performance measurement tools
  • Undertake financial reviews and investigations as required
  • Actively manage trade debtors, ensuring all debt is paid within terms
  • Provide accurate and timely balance sheet reconciliations and forecasts.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA) or qualified by experience
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Systems knowledge (SAP, Excel, Word)
  • Ability to build a strong and motivated finance team
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to scope and deliver projects

Desirable:

  • Proven Healthcare industry experience
  • PFI contract experience
