Finance Manager (6 month fixed term contract)

Job Introduction

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Finance Manager on a fixed term contract at our prestigious Central Manchester Hospital site.

As Finance Manager you'll provide direction, management and leadership in all financial areas including but not limited to: business analysis, reporting, accounting, planning, control and risk management. You'll partner with services leaders on site to provide support and drive efficiencies across the contract.

You’ll participate in the tracking and costing of variations to ensure opportunities are captured and costed accurately whilst being our Healthcare segment SAP Master Data Champion.

Manchester Royal Infirmary comprises five hospitals on a single, 22 acre site, including the largest children’s hospital in Europe. The site is the largest Private Finance Initiative in healthcare in the country, bringing in revenues of 42 million pounds per annum.

Role Responsibility

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including the management of invoicing and payments process; control of debt and sales accruals, ensuring costs and revenues are accurately reported by service area
  • Ensure that the company’s reporting timetable is met and all appropriate policies for stocks and cash are complied with, carrying out regular audit checks of departments
  • Work with the Finance Controller to track, document, cost and negotiate contract variations and deliver contractual compliance
  • Work with the Finance Controller and Site Director to compile budgets and forecasts, accurately reporting and justifying actual financial performance against targets
  • Provide financial support for central projects and initiatives
  • Support the segment lead on the implementation of SAP upgrades across all healthcare sites.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience of Management accounts and Working within a busy accounts environment
  • Systems Experience (SAP, Excel, Word)
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills to deliver effective Finance department service in a demanding environment with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to relate to all levels within Sodexo and externally with suppliers and Trust

Desirable:

  • Qualified/Part Qualified Accountant
  • Analytical skills; able to understand complex performance issues and advise upon and prioritise action plans to resolve such issues
  • Essbase skills
  • Experience of working with non-finance personnel
  • Ability to process data from disparate sources and generate meaningful management information
