FSA Shift Leader

Job Introduction

We currently have an opportunity for a FSA Shift Leader to join our team. This is a great opportunity for a customer focused individual to join a world leading food and facilities management company, which can offer unrivalled opportunities for career progression.

Role Responsibility

  • Work with and support all units/departments within the centre to ensure all aspects of the contract are delivered at all times
  • Ensure availability of retail items at meals through effective team co-ordination
  • Deputise the retail supervisor in their absence as and when directed
  • Manage a team of food service assistants, including delegation of shifts and tasks
  • To provide a first point of contact to our customers and deal politely, professionally and efficiently with any queries and complaints, informing your line manager when appropriate
  • To ensure all retail areas are clean at all times
  • To ensure that retail HACCP is adhered to by the team
  • Undertake any other reasonable task as directed by your line manager
  • To ensure all stock is rotated correctly and any close to date is marked down and cleared according to policy
  • To order and receive deliveries accurately and according to policy
  • To ensure all employees adhere to the TMS procedure and maintain effective records staffing
  • To ensure adherence to and maintain the Company Quality Management Procedures
  • To carry out any reasonable request of your line manager or the management team.
  • To continue to develop one’s own skills and knowledge within the position, including any required training courses
  • To maintain excellent client/customer relationships
  • To attend your performance development review to discuss job standards and agree development activities
  • To maintain a clean and tidy work area at all times
  • To care for all available resources including equipment, materials and supplies as directed
  • To report any near miss occurrences, accidents or faulty equipment to management
  • To ensure effective communication with line manager, team, customer and client organisation
  • To maintain all areas of responsibility to the set service standards and in line with applicable service offer
  • To oversee the shift as required and make operational decisions to ensure service delivery
  • To raise any service or performance concerns to line manager in a timely manner 
  • To carry out any other reasonable tasks and/or instructions as directed by management
 

 

The Ideal Candidate

Essential:

  • Previous experience of working in a catering operational role
  • Able to work on own initiative within a team environment
  • Food Safety Level 2

Desirable:

  • Experience of working within military environment
  • Previous experience of effectively supervising a team
  • Leadership skills and knowledge
  • Knowledge/qualification in Health & Safety and Food Safety
  • Able to demonstrate working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Analyse problems analytically, develop opportunities and implement innovative solutions
