Evening and Weekend Cook
Job Introduction
We currently have an opportunity for an evening and Weekend Cook to join our team. This is a great opportunity for a customer focused individual to join a world leading food and facilities management company, which can offer unrivalled opportunities for career progression.
Role Responsibility
Ensure food produced is of the highest possible standard, taking into account dietary requirements for each study, flavour, cooking methods, texture and appearance.
Ensure food is prepared in accordance with the study specific menus, at the times dictated by the study and all documentation is completed.
Assist with the planning and delivery of menu developments, in line with changing clients requirements and customer perceptions.
Ensure food production procedures and cost allocations adhere to the contract and budgetary requirements.
Assist in the ordering procedures as requested and monthly stock take.
To prepare food in accordance with HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) Regulations
To ensure all " Food Safety Documentation" is completed and recorded daily.
To report Health and Safety issues to your manager,
To report all accidents and near misses to your line manager and ensure appropriate records are made by completing the required paperwork
Promote good health and food safety habits and methods of work.
To ensure that all protective equipment is used correctly as specified by the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Food Safety Regulations 1990
Carry out cleaning as specified by the cleaning rota and management
Deputise for the head chef in his absence
To ensure appropriate use of stock, wastage controls and stock process to ensure stock wastage and loss is minimised.
To acknowledge our customers in a polite and professional manner and recognise regular customers by name.
To work as one team and be prepared to assist your colleagues when necessary
To perform any other reasonable duties as required by your Manager
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for this role will:
Essential
- Have experience in a food service environment
- Have basic food preparation and cooking skills
Desirable
- Be effective communicator to all levels
