Duty Manager (Catering, Events, Hospitality)

Job Introduction

We are currently looking to recruit a Duty Manager to support the management of a busy catering and hospitality operation at a prestigious independent school. This challenging role requires a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with excellent organisational and planning skills and confidence in dealing with clients, management and customers at all levels. You will be focused on service standards and the planning and delivery of hospitality events and functions.

 

Role Responsibility

  • Provide hands on support to ensure the efficient management of the catering operation, which includes up to 2,000 meals per day across a 7 day operation plus back of house procedures and administration
  • Lead the planning and execution of a variety of hospitality services, events and functions
  • Engage and motivate the team to deliver an outstanding customer experience
  • Ensure all food is prepared to a high standard as per service level agreement, Company policy and current legislation.
  • Establish and maintain satisfactory relationships with individuals at all levels within the Company and the Client organisation.
  • Implement and maintain the Statutory and Company standards of hygiene, health and safety and take any action as is necessary.

 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience in a similar role, within hospitality, events or front of house
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with customers, clients and staff
  • Experience of managing or supervising a team within a catering environment an advantage
  • Ability to achieve and set standards to operate to performance criteria
  • Good administrative skills to manage catering systems, invoicing, HR issues
  • Customer focussed and passionate about service and high standards
