Domestic, Electrical & Maintenance Engineer (DEM)

Job Introduction

Sodexo Energy & Resources has a fantastic opportunity for a Domestic, Electrical & Maintenance Engineer to join our ad-hoc support team.

As an integral member of the offshore team, you will support the Facilities Manager/Chef Manager in the maintenance and repair of catering & galley equipment and upkeep of furnishings and fittings within accommodation.

Role Responsibility

  • Carry out planned maintenance routines (PMR’s) on catering, refrigeration & laundry equipment in accordance with Sodexo Energy & Resources routines & manufacturer’s maintenance instructions to ensure the safe use of critical galley & laundry equipment
  • Complete PMR documentation, spares requests and end of trip report, ensuring sufficient information on spares has been provided prior to sending documents to onshore coordinators
  • Order such spares and equipment as is necessary to maintain equipment availability
  • Maintain good liaison with Sodexo Energy & Resources shore based DEM coordinators to ensure cost effective supply and control of spares
  • Maintain, update asset list of equipment on site and update DEM coordinators on any changes
  • Notify the FM/Chef Manager and/or onshore coordinator of any equipment that is showing signs of wear and tear that should be replaced in the near future, in order to assist in avoiding increased disruption to service from aging assets
  • Identify any potentially unsafe equipment and remove it from service until it is repaired or disposed of
  • Repair/replace defective internal lighting in accommodation, mess, galley & laundry
  • Investigate and report any customer complaints immediately and take the agreed corrective action where service gaps are identified
  • Ensure that personal working hygiene & uniform standards meet both the company and statutory requirements
  • Assist the FM/Chef Manager in ensuring that any duties carried out under their control are done so in accordance with Sodexo Energy & Resources safe working practices
  • Report to FM/Chef Manager any incident of fire, loss, damage and other irregularities or contract deviations and take such corrective action as may be required
  • Attend any meetings and/or training courses as may be necessary
  • In the event of general alarm/incident proceed to the emergency duties allocated to the position, if applicable
  • Maintaining good housekeeping practises in all work areas
  • Upkeep and compliance with COSHH sheets
  • Upkeep and compliance with risk assessments and safe systems of work
  • Report all accidents, incidents, and injuries immediately to FM/Chef Manager
  • Comply with all company procedures in conjunction with SMS

The Ideal Candidate

  • Formal electrical qualification
  • BOSIET or FOET
  • MIST
  • OGUK Medical
  • CA-EBS
  • Experience carrying out PPM’s on laundry and catering & refrigeration equipment
  • Experience of communicating technical information to a non-technical audience
  • A proactive attitude and resourceful nature is beneficial for this position
