Director of Infrastructure Services

Job Introduction

We are currently recruiting a new role within the IS&T team, a Director of Infrastructure Services. Reporting directly into the CIO for UK and Ireland you will be an active member of the IS&T leadership management team and have responsibility for a team of infrastructure specialists.

You will be responsible for leading the introduction of Cloud technologies across the entire region, be the technical architecture for Food and FM Platforms and all Technical Platforms. You will be responsible for establishing the technical vision and leading all aspects of the region’s technology and infrastructure development, (Cloud and On-Premise) and support facilities, local, wide, wireless, Internet, and Intranet networks, telephone, and all related software programs.  As the region’s top technology expert you will play an integral role in the strategic direction, development, and future growth of the region.

Role Responsibility

  • Responsible for the entire IT technical platforms and environment of the Region
  • Responsible for leading the introduction of Cloud technologies across the entire region
  • Actively participate in all Group technology forums and committee where Regional involvement is required
  • Increase the value and reduce the cost of IT technical operations by leveraging newer technologies.
  • Optimise and manage the technology network to deliver high efficiency with sufficient resilience whilst managing costs effectively
  • Develop and maintain overall framework of IT technical policies, standards and strategies that will empower business and people to deliver on their commitments to the strategy and budgets
  • As part of the business continuity plan, ensure that there is no failure in business operations and appropriate DR plans are in place and regularly tested for readiness for unforeseen and unexpected events which can impact the business continuity.
  • Define the priorities, objectives and targets that underpins what contributes to delivery of value to business aligned with best practices and standards
  • Responsible for recruitment, training, retention, and organisation of technical staff in accordance with the Region’s hiring process, personnel policies, and budget requirements
  • Ensure knowledge-sharing, mentoring, and training for staff and stakeholders with regards to the technical/scientific capabilities, vision, opportunities, and challenges
  • Ensure efficiency in process / operations across the Region
  • Identify security threats, formulate strategies and methods to mitigate the threats
  • Develop long term plans to sustain and support the business, anticipating the future trends
  • Lead strategic insight and overview of business case justifications and ROI analysis for IT spending and initiatives
  • Ensure total quality management through uniform processes and procedures

     

The Ideal Candidate

  • Graduate calibre
  • Tertiary level of education in ICT
  • Current relevant experience in Information technology and Cloud technologies
  • Current relevant experience in Information Security or Enterprise Architecture
  • In depth knowledge and experience of Enterprise Architecture and Information Security
  • Able to explain technical processes and systems to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience of working with technical teams both internally and externally.
  • Experience of collecting complex business requirements and producing functional and technical specifications.
  • Experience of leading teams to deliver required solutions
