Despatch Supervisor (Nights Regular)

Job Introduction

We currently have an opportunity for a Despatch Supervisor to join our team. This is a great opportunity for a customer focused individual to join a world leading food and facilities management company, which can offer unrivalled opportunities for career progression.

Role Responsibility

  • To delegate for direct reports and line manager as required in their absence
  • To monitor and work with loading team to ensure all loads are correct at time of departure.
  • Close monitoring of work progress in required areas
  • Dealing with daily issues regarding delivery queries and stock queries
  • Correct stock rotation of all products and heavy involvement with period end stock takes.
  • Communication within the department and with other departments
  • Control of staff overtime, breaks, and general discipline within the department
  • To ensure that all employees are adequately trained and informed of the safety procedures or regulations and hazards involved in their work undertaken and in the department in general
  • To adhere to company hygiene and health and safety procedures
  • To be aware of the company’s quality management system and in particular, to follow any quality assurance work instructions that is applicable to this job
  • To carry out other duties dictated by the requirements of the business
  • To prioritise VIP shortages and communicate with relevant departments
  • To conduct thorough handovers between in-coming & out going peers (to discuss all issues & work loads of all despatch departments) at beginning/conclusion of shifts.
  • To control holidays/sickness and carry out all return to work meetings/improvement notices/relevant investigations etc.
  • Close monitoring of work progress in required areas
  • To work Closely with Despatch Loading Team to ensure vehicle/customer orders are loaded to completion
  • To carry out investigations when required.
