Data Subject Request Specialist (Administration Lead)

Job Introduction

Due to changes in legislation we are looking for a Data Subject Request Specialist, this newly created role will act as the central point of liaison between our legal team and the wider business in all aspects of data management, storage and processing. Part of the HR team, this role is key to ensuring a compliant data management process.

 

Our HR team work closely together and often have social events to promote team building, the Social Committee love to arrange events such as taking part in the ‘Great Manchester Run’ to raise money for our nominated charity. 

This role involves a shift pattern of 7.45am - 4.15pm and 8.45am - 5.15pm. These are alternated weekly.

 

Role Responsibility

This role will be involved in monitoring all requests relating to data management, storage and processing, liaising with teams across the business you will respond to a variety of requests and work with the correct departments to oversee these are handled in the correct manner. Leading this newly created small team you will work closely with various departments from legal to IT to ensure compliance across data management processes, mitigating risk to the business. Assisting the Senior Legal Counsel with complex data requests, you will be the subject matter expert in this area, always keeping up to date with any further changes to legislation. You will have overall responsibility for the governance of data collation, photocopying, dispatching and resolving of queries. The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Highly organised and responsive, with ability to work to SLAs and tight deadlines
  • Experience of working with Data Subject Requests or Freedom of Information requests
  • Experience of information or records management and using electronic information systems such as a corporate intranet or SharePoint.
  • Attention to detail, particularly with applying redaction to documents, data entry expertise and an awareness of the legislative and regulatory frameworks for information and records governance
  • Knowledge of the GDPR legislation
  • Experience of handling Data Subject Requests process and understanding of actions necessary to ensure a smooth customer experience
  • Computer literate – Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Sound stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Proven experience of managing multiple time critical requests

Desirable

  • Has provided guidance/support to ensure organizational compliance with other people related process such as legislations/standards for pre-employment screening, ongoing right to work etc.  
  • People management experience
