Contract Director

Job Introduction

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Contract Director at the University Hospitals South Manchester, Wythenshawe, to take overall day to day responsibility for the operational management of contracted services.

You’ll ensure that Sodexo continuously and effectively support the Trust’s clinical needs, to the agreed contract schedules and service delivery plans, whilst taking responsibility to deliver a seamless IFM solution to our clients, nurturing business synergies and efficiencies.

We help to enhance the patient environment (including patient dining, cleaning/housekeeping, retail services), provide clinical support (equipment sterilisation) and manage technical estates teams (estates management, asset management, land maintenance and energy management).

Role Responsibility

  • Manage the day to day operations and ensure service delivery is of a high quality with an emphasis on standards and the patient experience
  • Have full P&L responsibilities for the services being managed and accountability to deliver against company budgets ensuring regular meetings within reporting lines
  • Ensure that all financial targets and KPI’s are achieved within a framework of absolute financial control with Risks and Opportunities auctioned and reported on a monthly frequency
  • Understand building energy management system and energy conservation policies utilising central resource when required for expertise
  • Drive third party income generation through a customer focused culture and own a commercial focus to drive variation opportunities ensuring compliance with our finance colleagues
  • Develop and manage efficiency programmes to reduce costs and increase productivity
  • Develop and manage a professional client retention and communication strategy, attending meetings with the Trust as required

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience of managing multiple services in a soft FM environment
  • Proven ability to plan and achieve results in difficult situations and in limited timeframe
  • Strong leadership qualities, able to seize the initiative and drive results whilst having the ability to act as an effective team player within the operations team
  • Ability to manage operations against an agreed specification demonstrating strong P&L expertise, commercial awareness and core numeracy skills
  • Ambition and resilience in management and work ethic
  • Effective communicator with the ability to influence key decision makers
  • Innovative, with the ability to robustly deliver continuous improvement and change where necessary

Desirable

  • Experience within a PFI environment
  • Experience within a hard FM environment
