Construction Engineer

Job Introduction

Sodexo Corporate Services are looking to appoint a Construction Engineer on a 12 month fixed term contract.

As Construction Engineer, you will provide day to day construction supervision and coordination services on behalf of our prestigious client site.

You will work closely with the Contractor Construction Management Team, on a CDM regulated project(s), to deliver a safe, timely and quality orientated project.

 

 

Role Responsibility

  • Understand scope of works, have a good interpretation of drawings and specification;
  • Interrogate design for clashes and potential hold points, resolve hold points in conjunction with Design team and Construction team;
  • Enforce quality standards;
  • Witness pressure tests, electrical tests (if qualified), and inspection hold points;
  • Use of fire detection system for isolation of detectors;
  • Coordinate and host walk downs of the construction area for site teams;
  • Provide snagging and de-snagging duties;
  • Coordinate training opportunities;
  • Review ‘As Built’ documentation for accuracy and content;
  • Provide safety oversight of contractor activities;
  • Review of all Contractor RAMS;
  • Conduct risk assessment and issue permits, and enforcement;
  • Coordinate with:-

- Site security and logistics teams for deliveries and visitors

- Site department/personnel for potential disruptions and interference;

  • Keep a daily diary of activities, attendances and significant events;
  • Maintain a weekly photographic progress log on each Project;
  • Attend progress meetings and weekly Engineering update meetings

The Ideal Candidate

  • Appropriate construction management experience, with a practical awareness.
  • Safety and CDM training.
  • IT skills for database use, photo/file transfer, email, use of AutoCad would be a benefit, not essential.
