Conference Coordinator

Job Introduction

We currently have an opportunity for a Conference Coordinator to join our team. This is a great opportunity for a customer focused individual to join a world leading food and facilities management company, which can offer unrivalled opportunities for career progression.

 

Role Responsibility

The successful applicant will work within a small conference and events team, coordinating all necessary administrative arrangements, from initial enquiry through to post-event feedback, to ensure all of their customers receive an efficient, professional and friendly service at all times.

Description:

 

  • To receive telephone enquiries and take the appropriate follow up action necessary to convert the call to then generate a ‘sale’
  • To gather information on a regular basis on competitors & market trends, and be aware of what facilities and packages their offer.
  • To actively seek and find new business opportunities
  • To generate and distribute the weekly Function Sheet.
  • To conduct venue site visits with clients
  • To liaise with the HOD’s about confirmed booking.
  • Use your knowledge of facilities and additional services to create packages to suit the client needs which will create a ‘unique’ experience for our guests and maintain their loyalty and repeat business
  • Be involved in internal and external wedding shows and show rounds as needed.
  • To update meeting partner websites with photos, descriptions, and promotions
  • To carry out local research of potential new business
  • To develop relationships with local clients, direct bookers and agency bookers to ensure a strong base of new and regular repeat business
  • To work as part of a team and undertake other tasks when asked to do so
  • Reporting to the General Manager

The Ideal Candidate

Someone who can be self-motivated, exceptional admin skills and a critical eye for details. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate with people confidently and effectively on the telephone and face to face.

Someone who has a 21st century mind with an in-depth knowledge of E-Marketing including Webpages, Twitter, LinkedIn and other current Media

You should possess great sales skills, motivated to gain new customers and an understanding of Revenue.

You will also be a team player, with a sunny personality willing to assist other team members when necessary, with a 'can do’ attitude. Our aim is to makes sure each of our client's customers feel special, and ensure they leave looking forward to their next visit.

Please note that the successful applicant will be offered the role upon receipt of suitable references and DBS clearance.
