Compliance Assistant
Job Introduction
This is a varied and challenging role, which will suit someone with a genuine interest and passion for compliance within an HR environment. You will offer a remote, responsive compliance administration service, specialising in Right to Work, DBS and Security Clearance checks for our employees. You will provide advice to line managers and colleagues regarding essential employment checks, taking into account any specific requirements for our diverse segments, from hospitals, defence sites, schools and visitor attractions. Based in our HR Service Centre, you will work as part of a small team, handling compliance requests from employees and Managers via phone and email.
Role Responsibility
• Provide a helpful, responsive and customer friendly compliance service to HR Service Centre Customers, in line with agreed timeframes
• Case manage compliance requests from employees and line managers until resolution ensuring service tickets are updated on CSM system
• Liaise with employees, line managers and other departments in order to obtain necessary information to meet requirements of compliance service requests
• Manage right to work checks for new starters through RTW Portal, ensuring satisfactory documentation has been provided and if necessary case mange until relevant documentation has been provided and ongoing renewal of Right To Work checks, mandatory professional registration and segment specific checks, ensuring checks are carried out within a timely manner
• Manage DBS, professional registration/qualification and segment specific checks for new starters, ensuing necessary paperwork is actioned and processed
• Process security clearances including reference checks and credit checks
• Ensure all hard and soft copy personnel records are maintained, secure and comply with obligations under the Data Protection Act, GDPR and segment specific requirements.
The Ideal Candidate
• Awareness of compliance processes and matters surrounding eligibility to work in the UK, DBS, security clearance etc
• Committed to providing a friendly and responsive customer service
• Strong understanding and respect for confidentiality
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient user of Microsoft Office programmes
Desirable
• Some generalist HR experience, with working knowledge of theory and best practice HR policy.
• Experience of using SAP HR / CSM system.
Package Description
Up to £19,000 depending on experience + bonus
