Commercial Manager

Job Introduction

As a Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for the commercial management and administration of both internal and external contract agreements, you will work closely with our Director of Operations & Commercial Ian Sparkes as you help shape, maintain and improve working relationships as you establish yourself as the Commercial SME within the function.

You will need to be a strong communicator as the scope of the role will see you interacting with a number of stakeholders, internally and externally with a real focus on our client and supply chain. Although the role requires a commercial focus and good contractual knowledge a pragmatic ‘solution oriented’ approach will help you hit the ground running with this opportunity.

Role Responsibility

  • Ensure contractual compliance.
  • Managing change control, which requires developing Impact Assessments, providing commercial proposals and developing and agreeing those with by the client.
  • Work closely with the Finance function to assist in the delivery of the contract at prescribed revenue and margin
  • Work closely with the Key Account Management (KAM) function in managing risk across the contract and model.
  • Ensure that the supply chain is delivering the agreed standard and supporting supply chain leads in each category.
  • Take commercial responsibility for Sodexo vendors on the contract.
  • Directly support the Director Operations & Commercial in account development, revenue and margin optimisation and reporting back in to group.
  • Provide support to the Operations and Real Estate directorates and Key Account Management function and other members of the team, aiding in the development of the account and Integrator offering.
  • Develop and evolve commercial understanding across the Integrator functions.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Demonstrable Commercial acumen
  • Analytical with exceptional numerical skills
  • Good experience of contract management, interpretation of contracts and drafting.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail (create written/edit documents and run spread sheets)
  • Motivated to continuously develop technical skills and knowledge
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder relationship skills

Desirable

  • Wide understanding of Hard & Soft service delivery and projects
  • Demonstrable knowledge of NEC forms of contract, particularly TSC and E&C
  • Experience of a range of complex contract forms including property/ construction related activity
  • Extensive exposure to managing contract change, compiling impact assessments of change and administering variations.
