Commercial Finance Manager

Job Introduction

Sodexo Energy & Resources has an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Finance Manager to join our segment finance team.

Responsible for providing leadership in finance to our teams, you will be responsible for our Onshore Energy (OSE) business finances, using commercial data to drive business performance.

Role Responsibility

  • To provide direction, management and leadership in all commercial and financial areas, including but not limited to analysis, reporting, control and risk management
  • To create and maintain robust standard “service line” cost modelling and databases
  • To support OSE (Onshore Energy) business development team in bids by creating solution costing and overall financial models and pricing for client submission
  • To analyse OSE contract performance post award to understand performance and revise cost modelling for future offers
  • To work with segment finance to analyse results and to work with technical services team to manage project costing and billing
  • Finance point of contact for the clients internally and externally. The role involves significant exposure to the senior figures in client organizations.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate production of monthly accounting cycles, processes and reporting
  • Ensure reporting systems are robust enough to help drive glidepath savings
  • Ensure financial control environment is properly implemented especially around cash, stock and cost control in units.
  • The position is a key member of the account management team and therefore the person should have the ability to challenge non-finance personnel on an on-going basis where appropriate.
  • To be highly focused on the strategic and commercial analysis of new opportunities, leading financial aspects of tender processes and assisting on non-financial aspects.
  • Managing full month end process for your portfolio of clients, guiding and liaising with FSS staff and operations to produce and understand monthly performance.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Essential
  • Degree level education in a relevant business and/or accounting subject
  • Accountancy qualification either complete or in progress (ACA, ICAS, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong commercial acumen, willing and able to challenge accepted practices and processes.
  • Good communication skills with experience in managing multiple stakeholders
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • High attention to detail and levels of accuracy
  • Experience of working to and meeting business critical deadlines
  • Disciplined with a strong orientation towards processes and procedures
  • Self-starter and ability to operate at all levels of the organisation (from site level to senior management)
  • Understanding of contract types within the contracted facilities management industry
  • Understanding of marketing requirements
