Commercial Finance Business Partner

Job Introduction

Sodexo are keen to talk to Commercial Finance Business Partners to support our Head of Finance Kevin Crabb on providing leadership and direction in all commercial and financial areas such as business analysis, reporting, accounting and risk management.

Externally facing you will business partner the Contact Director to provide commercial insight which will drive efficiencies across Sodexos’s contract portfolio.

You will need to be a true business partner as you split your time between month end activities, ensuring internal/external reports are delivered in a timely and accurate manner and building client relationships, acting as a SME in financial and commercial related discussions and being active in client negotiations.

Role Responsibility

  • Manage finances to deliver financial and other agreed performance targets for contract portfolio.
  • Ensure rigorous financial controls, governance and compliance for the contract portfolio.
  • Support the Head of Finance and the Account Director (AD) and their senior teams in commercial decision making, mitigating risks and maximising profitability and cash collection
  • Develop and manage robust budgeting and forecasting processes across the contract portfolio: identifying issues and opportunities and ensuring the AD and senior management teams have plans in place to address them.
  • Assist the AD and HoF to manage the annual budget process for the division and support the operational teams with relevant training.
  • Identify key performance drivers and work with site management to deliver ongoing efficiencies.
  • Actively support the AD in client negotiations and proposals for new and existing contract amendments

The Ideal Candidate

  • Graduate calibre with associated professional accountancy qualification (ACCA / CIMA) or studying towards a related qualification.
  • Track record in influencing decision making within a business and improving performance with substantial profit impact.
  • Competent at planning and able to manage short and medium-term deadlines and competing priorities
  • Work quickly and autonomously towards a plan but have the skills to re-prioritise as required
  • Experience of SAP, Hyperion Enterprise and Hyperion Essbase
  • Can demonstrate an ability to build relationships at all levels across an organisation
  • Previous experience gained in a commercial role, preferably within a similar environment/organisation.
  • Demonstrates commercial acumen with a proven ability to innovate and implement continuous improvement
  • Strong and engaging communication skills, written and verbal, with a proven ability to convey complex financial information or models in simple terms to managers and colleagues of different capability levels.
