Cleaning & Waste Operations Manager

Due to internal progression we are looking to recruit a Cleaning and Waste Operations Manager for Sodexo, this role will ensure high standards of cleaning across Ascot racecourse and manage all aspects of waste management services. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about the industry, can drive team engagement and ensure high levels of performance.

Role Responsibility

Managing a team of Cleaning and Waste operatives you will ensure the team are equipped to perform their role, ensuring full training is provided and equipment is provided. You will monitor schedules for all daily cleaning, conference and event cleaning and deep cleaning to make sure rosters are put together and stay within budgets. You will be responsible for internal audits and ensuring both standards and performance meet the agreed KPI’s. Ensuring daily checklists are in place for all pieces of heavy duty cleaning equipment you will check the correct training is given and the service checks are completed by the supplier. Promoting and embedding a positive Health & Safety culture across the team is key to this role, driving compliance through implementing all relevant H&S and statutory requirements. Providing leadership to the Cleaning & Waste Operations team, you will act as a role model to motivate and support the team to maintain a working culture that maximizes staff engagement. The Ideal Candidate

  • A competent professional experience of managing and leading a Cleaning & Waste team.
  • High level of technical cleaning knowledge.
  • Experience of using heavy duty cleaning machinery, window cleaning knowledge, general housekeeping and office cleaning.
  • Flexible approach to working and committed to frequent weekend working (racedays) and occasional night shifts.
  • BICSs/ BIFM qualification.
  • IOSH Managing Safely Certificate.
  • Ability to identity and implement innovative and solutions to drive improvements.
  • Ability to organise workloads and to prioritise effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
