Cleaning Supervisor

Job Introduction

We are currently seeking a highly talented and driven person to work in the one of our Cork sites.

We are looking for someone with excellent organisational skills, the ability to prioritise their workload and have the ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.

You will be working as part of a team but you will at times be expected to work independently and under your own initiative.

Role Responsibility

  • Daily cleaning duties as set out in individual SOWs for the contracted building.
  • Responsibility for all day to day aspects relating to the management and maintenance of the cleaning service within the contract specification to the agreed performance, qualitative and financial targets.
  • Complete the necessary company documentation as required. Carry out regular control checks to monitor cleaner’s performance and adherence to standards and record the results.
  • Full working knowledge of the areas in the building which are covered by the services run by Sodexo.
  • Responsibility for work allocation to the cleaning team. Plan staff rosters and manage staff hours worked, sickness and annual leave.
  • Comply with all Company & client policies and statutory regulations relating to Health & Safety, safe working practices, hygiene, cleanliness, fire and COSHH.
  • Actively enforce relevant statutory, company and site Health & Safety compliance together with the monitoring of related equipment.
  • Control cleaning material stores. Be aware of material expenditure and cost and avoid unnecessary waste.
  • Liaise with the Cleaning Operatives to identify training required to implement the standards to facilitate the running of contract and deliver training as required. Ensure that cleaning standards are laid down, trained to staff and levels maintained.
  • Be aware of the condition of the equipment, organise repairs/replacements as appropriate with your line manager.
  • Provide cover in other areas in times of sickness and holidays.
  • To carry out reasonable periods of overtime as may be required from time to time.
  • Carry out all other reasonable tasks as directed by management.
  • To attend meetings and training courses as may be necessary from time to time. Some of which may occur outside normal working hours.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  1.  “An eye” for detail
  2. Previous Supervision experience
  3. Excellent interpersonal & customer service skills.
  4. Good use of the English language (written and spoken).

Desirable

  1. Previous cleaning / supervision experience in premium environment preferred

Up to date knowledge of general H&S and COSHH regulations
