Job Introduction

We currently have an opportunity for a chef to join our team. This is a great opportunity for a customer focused individual to join a world leading food and facilities management company, which can offer unrivalled opportunities for career progression.

Role Responsibility

  • To maintain hygiene standards in compliance with the company Health and Safety Policy and the Food Safety Policy, ensuring a “clean as you go” policy.
  • To report defects to the Manager or Team Leader.
  • To ensure the correct preparation, cooking and service of meals as per the Daily Menu within budgets as directed.
  • To ensure that due diligence paperwork is completed.
  • To ensure the correct recovery, storage and disposal of foods.  Exercising economy of food, fuel and prevention of waste.
  • To carry out correct opening and close down procedures on a daily basis.
  • To monitor and record temperatures of fridges, freezers, hot and cold cabinets in compliance with the Food Safety Act and company Quality Policy procedures.
  • To ensure foods are served at the correct temperatures with a probe.
  • To comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act. 
  • Assistance with ordering, control and correct storage of foodstuffs.
  • To ensure that allergen information is readily available for the customer for food that is being served.
  • To ensure adherence to the Quality Policy.
  • To liase closely with the Manager or Team Leader.
  • To develop one’s skills and knowledge within the current role of Chef.
  • Washing up duties required

The Ideal Candidate

  • Passion for cooking
  • Experience chef with cook to order/high street food experience
  • NVQ level 2 - not essential but preferred
  • Food Hygiene level 3 - not essential as training will be given
  • Great team worker
