Job Introduction

We currently have an opportunity for a Chef to join our team. This is a great opportunity for a customer focused individual to join a world leading food and facilities management company, which can offer unrivalled opportunities for career progression.

Role Responsibility

The main responsibilities are to assist the chef manager with

  • the consistent smooth running of food production areas within the Kitchen
  •  effective control of stock purchasing, receipt, storage, preparation and service with regard to quality, quantity and safety.
  •  that all food production areas are operating to the required standards throughout the designated opening hours.
  • Maintaining a high level of food quality and production with the aim of exceeding our client’s expectations.
  •  ensuring that the food operations are controlled in a manner which reaches the desired cost of sales and maximising potential and optimising resources.
  • ensuring that budgets are worked to and achieved.
  • Ensuring the security of all foods, chemicals and equipment by maintaining procedures lay down by the Health and Safety Policy.
  • ensuring that at all times cleanliness, food safety and all other Health and Safety matters are adhered to so as not to breach any legislative points within the Food Safety Act 1990 or the Health and Safety at Work Act.
  • assist with the Organisation of orders and food deliveries.
  • assist with completing the staff rotas as required.
  •  assist with Menu planning together with creating new dishes in line with recipe online.
  •  ensuring all Training & Development is completed together with health & safety regulations.
  •  ensuring full compliance with staffing matters (i.e.Holiday requests, Return to Work interviews, performance management, disciplinary etc).
  • Complete all Sodexo IT requirements to the required timelines.
  • To undertake all other duties as and when directed by the Site Director

 

The above tasks may be added to and should not be taken in isolation and when the operation requirement needs this could be expanded.

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Have experience in leading a kitche team.
  • Have good customer service.
  • Ability to work occational weekend, evening and bank holidays will be required.
  • Evidence of working as part team.
  • Good level of English both written and spoken.
  • Good PC ability.
  • Be an effective communicator to all levels.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure.

To Assist and in the absence of the chef Manager take on full responsibility for the leading, motivation and up-skilling of the Kitchen team and assisting with  the maintainance of exceptional standards with regard to food storing, preparation, production, cooking, presentation and other services which we provide . You must have an energetic and enthusiastic personality with a real passion for cooking and always striving for perfection.
