Chef Supervisor

Job Introduction

We currently have an opportunity for a Chef Supervisor to join our team. This is a great opportunity for a customer focused individual to join a world leading food and facilities management company, which can offer unrivalled opportunities for career progression.

Role Responsibility

  • To ensure the preparation of all food processing.
  • To ensure the quality of product and standards of hygiene within the Kitchen facilities conform to the criteria set out in the SOP.
  • Reporting all defects of equipment, damage to materials and any incidents involving theft to management.
  • Allocate duties and areas to staff
  • Directing staff in ensuring the provision of clean and tidy premises and work areas
  • Help the Executive Head Chef to achieve the cost of labour % set by the company
  • Supervise the return of all left over and unused food items to the Production Kitchen.
  • Ensure all protective clothing is worn and personal hygiene and appearance is adhered to.
  • Ensure that customer requirements and satisfaction are met throughout their event and good customer relations prevail at all times.
  • Supervising staff in their execution of their duties and ensuring compliance with quality standards of work and general conduct.
  • Assuming total accountability for the organisation, operation, administration, control and service standards of all events within the Catering Facility.
  • Ensuring that all inter and intra departmental communication links function efficiently.
  • Demonstrating high leadership skills thereby providing the basis for high group morale and motivation
  • Seeking always to maintain good relation with external suppliers and ensuring harmonious inter departmental co-operation within the catering department.
  • Assessment of all staff to encourage development
  • Contribute towards the preparation and cooking of all food items in the kitchen using set procedures specified by the Executive Head Chef.
  • To work in all the kitchens within the Catering Department as instructed.
  • To ensure correct portion control is achieved as instructed.
  • Ensure the correct and hygienic handling, processing and storing of all food items is carried out through date stamping/labelling.
  • Ensure the food items are rotated using the first in first out method.
  • The correct operation and cleaning of equipment with due regard to safety as instructed and in accordance with the manufacturers instructions.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment at all times

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Previous Chef/ kitchen supervisory experience
  • Organisation Skills

Desirable

  • IOSH and Food Safety Level 3 Certificates
  • Previous Conference and Banqueting Experience

Package Description

52 weeks per year.

11 days holiday per year.
