Catering Services Co-ordinator

Job Introduction

We are currently looking to recruit a Catering Services Co-ordinator to take responsibility for all aspects relating to the daily operations of the retail catering service, including management of catering team and maintenance of equipment.

You’ll provide a food service to the agreed standards in accordance with the service level agreement and key performance indicators specified in the service contract, actively enforcing relevant statutory, company and site health and safety compliance in partnership with high levels of food hygiene.

Role Responsibility

  • Manage catering team in line with Company policies and procedures, including dealing with absence management, capability and conduct issues
  • Lead, direct and observe all staff competency and behaviours, to ensure they comply and work towards Ambition 2025. Report any training gaps to the training co-ordinator
  • Provide an efficient, professional, caring and friendly service to all customers in all areas of the catering department. Deal with customer requests promptly
  • Assist with stock take and ordering
  • Work in partnership with the Chefs and Catering Services Manager to devise and develop a balanced menu, in accordance with CQUIN and Recipe on line
  • Enforce the HACCP and audit bi-annually, ensuring the audit scores improve year on year
  • Maintain good customer/patient and colleague relations at all times

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience in working in the food service, catering and/or hospitality industry
  • Industrial acumen and knowledge of catering developments and innovations
  • Good understanding of budget management
  • Experience in supervising a team
  • Excellent communication skills – experience of dealing with the public
  • Experience working in a standards compliance environment
  • IOSH level 3
  • Food Safety level 3
  • NVQ level 2 desirable

Salary up to £22,500 depending on experience plus site based bonus entitlement  

Will be required to work 5 days over 7, in line with retail unit opening hours, in order to oversee all shifts, including earlies, lates and weekends.
