Job Introduction

If you are a passionate Catering and Hospitality professional with exceptional team management skills read on.. We are looking to recruit a Catering Manager to oversee the catering and hospitality function at Aliwal Barracks in Tidworth.

As Catering Manager, you'll plan, organise and coordinate all catering activity, ensuring to lead the team to deliver service excellence. You'll provide leadership and clear direction to your team, ensuring they are motivated and engaged, and that they understand how their contribution impacts on the business. You will provide support across the site when required, including the management of functions, menu planning and team development within messes on site.

To be truly successful in the role, you’ll have strong leadership skills, be self-motivated and enthusiastic. You’ll have a passion for innovation and be skilled in food delivery and people management.

Frustrated working split shifts, long 12 hour days every day and then working every weekend and bank holidays?  We believe in quality of life not only for our clients! This role is primarily Monday to Friday, however some weekends and evenings may be required as per business needs.

 

Role Responsibility

  • Plan, organise and coordinate the daily catering activities within the dining facility
  • Ensure all food is prepared fresh and to a high standard and prepared with due care and attention in regard to special dietary requirements
  • Implement and maintain the Statutory and Company standards of hygiene, health and safety and take any action as is necessary
  • Supervise teams to ensure an outstanding service is delivered, providing training or coaching as required
  • Plan menus utilising a central menu bank, ensuring ordering and control of food stocks are maintained within budget
  • Manage the catering and front of house teams to ensure service excellent is delivered at all times
  • Plan, lead and support the delivery of functions and events, some of which may occur outside of normal working hours
  • Establish and maintain satisfactory relationships with individuals at all levels within the Company and the Client organisation
  • Implement and maintain the Statutory and Company standards of hygiene, health and safety and take any action as is necessary

The Ideal Candidate

What’s essential:

  • Previous experience in catering or hospitality and events management, ideally obtained from an similar enviorment
  • Experience of leading and developing a team to deliver a great service
  • Demonstrable knowledge of volume catering and delivering high end services and food
  • Passion for leading a team to deliver great food and service
  • Excellent communication skills and customer focus
  • Proactive and highly organised with a great attention to detail
  • Strong knowledge of Food Hygiene and Health & Safety with a recognised food hygiene qualification

Where we can be flexible:

  • IOSH and CIEH qualifications or equivalent is desirable
  • Proven experience of managing client relationships is desirable
  • Proven track record of leading, managing and developing a team is desirable
  • Experience of working in a military environment is desirable
