Category Manager (Travel, Fleet, Indirect)

Job Introduction

We currently have a fantastic opportunity available for a Category Manager (Travel / Fleet / Indirect) to join our global facilities management business in the UK. We can be flexible on location, you can be based out of offices in Leeds, Manchester or Stevenage.

You will work with all segments and functions in the region delivering savings in travel and fleet. Increase the international coverage of the managed area. Drive efficiency and commercial competitiveness for the UK & I and work with global supply management buying teams to implement global categories to the UK & I.

You will need to have current knowledge of procurement, ideally within travel and fleet but we will consider experience in other indirect categories. This role brings lots of variety, the need to work with both a small direct but large virtual stakeholder group, and attracts a competitive salary, annual bonus and excellent benefits package of up to 33 days annual leave.

Role Responsibility

Category Management :

  • Manage autonomously the assigned categories under the scope of responsibility.
  • Establish close relationship with the Supply relationship management and Deployment teams 
  • Ensure a good alignment and on boarding of the key stakeholders within the platforms and segments
  • Generate savings and increase revenues

Improve profitability by optimizing agreements and alignment with global contracts: 

  • Negotiate regional agreements and secure best net prices
  • Generate savings and improve commercial terms

Set up, initiate and maintain professional relationships with the regional supplier network in order to :

  • Reinforce the image and the credibility of Sodexo
  • Identify the technological developments and innovations from the supplier base

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Experience in Buying/ Category Management (travel, fleet, indirect
  • Ability in working in a multi-cultural and matrix environment
  • Proven-track records in contract negotiation
  • Ability to build strong working relationship and challenge stakeholders
  • Strong presentation skills both verbally and written 
  • Financial acumen and result orientated
  • Fluency in English; Second language a bonus.
  • Develop procurement strategies capable of supporting Sodexo’s supplier diversity and “Better Tomorrow” sustainability goals

Desirable

  • Experience of needs of multiple business sectors e.g. Pharma, Health or Public Sector Operations
  • Graduate calibre 
  • CIPS/ISM or equivalent qualification or working towards attaining qualification
