Food service General Assistant

Job Introduction

We currently have opportunities for catering assistants to join our team This is a great opportunity for a customer focused individuals to join a world leading food and facilities management company, which can offer unrivalled opportunities for career progression. Catering experience not essential, it is more important to get the right approach, everything else we can train.

We are currently in the process of upgrading our entire catering offer so there are a few roles available.

Role Responsibility

  • Having a positive and energetic approach to work and engaging with the people around you.
  • Check stock levels and replenish when necessary
  • Carry out cash handling on till transactions
  • Conduct visual Health & Safety checks
  • Ensure good knowledge of products on sale and on special offer
  • Ensure the area is presented to a high standard throughout the day and carry out a thorough cleaning at the end of the day
  • Ensure deliveries match delivery notes/invoices
  • Support the Manager in setting up the unit or function rooms, carrying out service to a high standard, and ensuring cleardown as instructed

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

Essential

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good levels of literacy and numeracy
  • The ability to take responsibility for their own work.

Desirable

  • Experience in the catering industry
  • Basic knowledge of food hygiene and Health & Safety

Package Description

An opportunity to work in newly refurbished catering units at Birmingham Children's Hospital, which include Costa and Crussh, a London based fit food offer, with it's first venture outside of London.

We are looking for positive staff who are focused on, giving excellent customer service and driving sales. This is an exciting opportunity to work in catering retail.

You will come into contact with staff, patients and visitors. We want you to make them feel valued and special and make every contact count.

Competitive rates of pay and holiday ( pro rata)
