Business Development Manager (Industry regime)

HMP Peterborough is is the country’s first and only dual purpose built prison for both men and women, who are kept separate at all times and it also hosts the world’s first payment by results project for offenders. Work is fully underway on an exciting Prison extension project which will increase capacity by nearly a third

 

In this role, you will establish a Business Development strategy that makes the best use of available resources to attract revenue and enhance the reputation of the prison.

You'll market, advertise, and promote all business projects in an appropriate style and manner, identifying, investigating, and exploiting any potential regime industry opportunities.

Role Responsibility

  • Develop a working strategy to launch the Business Development opportunities.
  • Raise the profile of the new projects.
  • Explore the idea of outside catering services
  • Produce a catalogue for all our products
  • Work closely with internal specialists.e.g. Industries and Finance - to meet time and standards targets for any given project.
  • Liaise with local communities to source any project work that will attract revenue, or drive and follow up any internal staff ideas that will lead to attracting revenue.
  • Set up a website so external orders can be progressed.
  • Take any opportunity of stretching and developing suitable projects Sodexo wide.
  • Represent HMP Peterborough at any appropriate external events that will provide a positive outcome that can be taken forward in a business plan.
  • Meet agreed prison targets which will be identified in your PDR and reviewed regularly throughout the year.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships within the workplace and outside, that will be beneficial to all parties.
  • Ability to devise and plan a working strategy, meeting targets and production requirements.
  • Proven ability to negotiate for business, and to deliver on time.
  • A creative mind, instigating realistic projects that will produce favourable financial outcomes.
  • Some basic financial knowledge and budget managing.
  • Experience of working in a target driven environment

Desirable

  • Useful contacts with local community links.
  • Previous industry regime experience/understanding

Contextual or other information

  • Every employee will be required to obtain a successful security clearnance and CRB check
  • Participate in training as required in order to keep up to date with all mandatory and refresher training.
  • Abide by the Sodexo corporate mission statement and all appropriate regulations, policies and procedures.
