Sodexo are recruiting for a Business Development Director to support the Ireland region to lead all sales and business development activities in the Corporate Services segment. You will advise the business, develop sales approaches and resources and lead strategic bids to achieve economic and commercial performance. As Business Development Director you will be critical to the performance on achieving profitable growth for the region.

This role attracts a competitive salary and benefits package, based in Ireland you will be expected to travel as and when required across the region.

The Business Development Director will be required to develop and implement the Regional Corporate Sales strategy in alignment with the global strategy to deliver sustainable, profitable growth; this will be in collaboration with key colleagues and stakeholders.

Role Responsibility

  • Responsible for leading all sales and business development activities and teams in Corporate Ireland.
  • Advise the segment on achieving profitable growth through business development
  • Establish a true BD approach and action plan to develop business in the markets identified
  • Devise Segment Region sales strategy and help set sales objectives and resources allocation by region
  • Act as the ‘voice of our customer’ at global segment leadership level to communicate customer demands, offer needs, and market realities
  • Ensure the transfer of best practices from deals/customer solutions across region
  • Work on strategic prospects and bidding processes for the largest or most strategic deals; own the customer relationship
  • Developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with key clients at the highest level and participating actively in presentations, meetings and negotiations with customers on accounts and situations with very high stakes
  • Developing the segment in the Ireland identifying and realizing market opportunities to deliver sustainable profitable growth
  • Contributing to the building of an ambitious vision for the Corporate segment regionally, as a member of the  Ireland  Corporate team and collaboration with peers in the Corporate sector in other countries around the world as appropriate to drive the business and create a “one-team” approach  

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience and evidence of delivering profitable growth in a similar organisation
  • An appropriate level of experience in a Business Development role is essential to the success of this role, including an understanding of the Irish market
  • Experience of managing, developing and inspiring teams to deliver their best is essential
  • Experience of delivering strategic prospects and bid processes
  • A collaborative approach when working with potential clients, colleagues and stakeholders
