Building Services Manager

Job Introduction

We are currently looking to recruit a Building Services Manager to oversee the technical operation at National College in Nottingham, a 100 bedroom resident conference and office space.

This is a fantastic role that would suit a technical professional who can build and maintain strong relationships with the client and lead a team.

Role Responsibility

  • Day to day management for ensuring the effective service delivery of the technical services operations that is fully compliant with legislation and the client contractual specification.
  • Manage the team of on-site engineering operatives
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory Health & Safety legislation and company Health and Safety procedures.
  • Ensure all technical service provision meets the specifications and standards set by the client, as directed by the General Manager.
  • Proactive management and reporting on energy consumption for the building.
  • Issuing permits and closure of permits, updating permit logs.
  • Operation and fault diagnosis using the Building Management System (BMS)
  • Accurate completion and population of all job sheets with relevant information.
  • Investigation and suggestion of ways to increase the life of assets by engineering initiative.
  • To keep records up to date and complete.
  • To ensure billing, quotations and all financial elements of the contract are kept up to date.
  • Prepare and present monthly operational and financial reports to the General Manager.

The Ideal Candidate

  • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent (or willingness to undertake and complete successfully within 3 months from commencement of employment)
  • HNC in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering on NVQ 4 or above
  • BS23 Management of Water System
  • Proven experience/track of management of FM Contracts
  • Commitment to undergo continuing professional development
  • Excellent people management skills
  • Proficient IT skills, including Excel, Word and Microsoft Office
  • Flexible – is willing to undertake a range of tasks and duties vital for the effective and successful running of the contract.
