Building Manager - FSW

Job Introduction

As a building manager within the catering college you will be responsible for 13 kitchens and also classrooms and offices.

 

The role will be responsible for the kitchen porters and all cleaning facilities. You will undertake cleaning audits, and ensure that the correct people are in the correct kitchens at the right time.

 

The role requires the successful candidate to be extremely organised to manage a busy catering college and the person will also be responsible for managing the labour budget and also a team of 5 people currently. The team size is expected to grow so therefore there is an opportunity for the candidate to grow with the role.

Role Responsibility

  • Knowledge of working in a management role within the soft FM service industry
  • Proven track record of leading, managing and developing a team
  • People management skills including general HR skills in recruitment, training and managing colleague performance including disciplinary and grievance procedures.
  • Proven experience of managing client relationships within a contract environment
  • Good numerical, interpersonal and communication skills, able to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication
  • Management knowledge of health & safety and food safety
  • Able to make independent decisions
  • Able to work on own initiative within a team environment
  • Able to demonstrate working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Able to demonstrate attention to detail and adherence to standards
  • Able to analyse problems analytically, develop opportunities and implement innovative solutions
  • Food Safety Qualification
  • Proven budget experience

The Ideal Candidate

Essential:

  • Knowledge of working in a management role within the soft FM service industry
  • Leadership skills and knowledge
  • People management skills including general HR skills in recruitment, training and managing colleague performance including disciplinary and grievance procedures.
  • Good numerical, interpersonal and communication skills, must be able to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication
  • Management knowledge of health & safety and food safety
  • Ability to make independent decisions
  • Able to work on own initiative within a team environment
  • Able to demonstrate working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Able to demonstrate attention to detail and adherence to standards
  • Analyse problems analytically, develop opportunities and implement innovative solutions
  • Food Safety Qualification

 

Desirable:

  • Experience of working within military environment
  • Previous experience in effectively managing in a similar role
  • Health and Safety qualification equivalent to IOSH managing safely
  • Soft FM specific technical skills including contract catering, hospitality, retail and cleaning knowledge and skills
  • Proven experience of managing client relationships within a contract environment
