Brigade Clerk

Job Introduction

We currently have an opportunity for a Brigade Clerk to join our team. This is a great opportunity for a customer focused individual to join a world leading food and facilities management company, which can offer unrivalled opportunities for career progression.

Role Responsibility

  • To provide staff support to the Commander and J1 (MS) chain of command for all matters relating to MS casework and confidential report including:
  • Receipt, checking, tracking and onward transmission of over 700 confidential reports.
  • Database and checking of Officers Clearance of Gradings and Order of Merit.
  • Officers Promotions.
  • Honours and Awards
  • Applications for Commissioning and Conversion of Commissions.
  • Maintaining Personal Files for Officers.
  • Monitoring and consolidating unit returns on MS matters, liaising with same units for returns to meet deadlines.
  • Maintaining all MS related files, manually and electronically.
  • Advising Units and other enquires on first line MS related matters.
  • Drafting and typing of routine letters, filing, photocopying and other general clerical tasks as required.
  • Responsible for producing the MS End of Year Report and analysis for Commander’s Senior Officer briefings.
  • Attend bi-annual Clearance of Grading boards for Officers and Honours and Awards conferences. 
 

 

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • IT qualification (e.g. ECDL) to Intermediate level
  • 5 GCSEs Grade A-C   
  • Demonstrable organisational and planning skills          
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrable written communication skills
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines                                                                                                         
  • Proven ability to prioritise between tasks for different managers
  • Demonstrable clerical/administrative experience in busy office                         
  • Experience of producing documents such as letters, reports, databases, spreadsheets, Powerpoint slides, using Microsoft office

Desirable

  •  NVQ in Administration
  • Experience of working in a military environment
 

Package Description

Full time maternity cover from October 2018.
