Job Introduction

This is an exciting opportunity where you will be tasked with producing professionally written proposal content that clearly articulates Sodexo’s value proposition. You will be working closely with our business development team who has a growing pipeline of opportunities, looking to enhance the team with a skilled and innovative Bid Writer. 

This is a networked role that requires an ability to work under pressure and to demanding deadlines. 

 

Role Responsibility

  • Lead storyboard sessions with bid / proposal team members.
  • Proactively develop and manage a network of subject matter experts.
  • Assist the bid manager in developing a proposal structure.
  • Identify and re-work existing pre-written content where relevant. 
  • Deliver completed written proposal responses to the bid manager against agreed RFP deadlines, escalating issues as required.
  • Re-write / edit proposal responses from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from sales, marketing, product teams, finance, HR, legal and delivery.
  • Present all new proposal content to the knowledge base manager for potential re-use.
  • Explore Sodexo’s DNA globally and apply knowledge by market segment / industry.
  • Author certain answers that do not currently exist anywhere inside Sodexo.
  • Create/update communication tools (brochures, value proposition, white papers). 
  • Create/update SA case studies and references including client testimonials.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Degree educated (ideally English Literature) or journalistic / professional writing background
  • Advanced MS Word skills, proficient in MS Office 
  • Ability to coach sales teams in writing best practice
  • Communicate and influence at a senior level to discuss options with the sales force and senior management
  • Strong time /project management and prioritization skills
  • Has the skill to gain interest, drive and motivation from others and sustain this over time
  • Displays high levels of integrity and is able to build constructive relationships 
  • Experience of collaborating with diverse, cross-cultural and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Proven skills in producing and editing proposal content within a complex business environment
