Bid Manager

Job Introduction

Due to our on-going commitment to growth, we are currently recruiting a Bid Manager (FTC -12 months) to join our team within Service Operations  The role’s can be based from our offices in Salford or Swindon.

The Bid Manager will be part of a team that are responsible for the delivery and production of high profile, high quality bid submissions. Ensuring innovative and market leading bids are produced through effective liaison with the team of graphic designers, bid writers, bid library manager and bid-coordinators. Key internal stakeholder contributions are likely to come from Business Development, Subject Matter Experts, including supply chain, finance, commercial, legal, HR and operational delivery.

The Bid function in Sodexo is incredibly busy. As part of our Bid Team you will be working towards our future growth and helping influence the Sodexo of tomorrow. A high degree of flexibility is required in this role. Due to strict deadlines, evening and weekend work will be required on occasion.

 

Role Responsibility

  • Read and understand RFI / RFP documents
  • Manage and own the Compliance Matrix as part of the bid process
  • Support  client interface and communication via e-portal management
  • Provide technical and graphic design advice and support to the bid solution manager following discussions with the graphic designer
  • Support third party outsourcing of any bid production with involvement of graphic designer
  • Support and coach bid-coordinators with managing the bid production plan for each submission
  • Support the proposal review process prior to submission to ensure a complete and high quality submission is delivered
  • Prepare high quality  bid documents for multi-service and / or large complex bids
  • Maintain customer satisfaction levels in line with the department’s SLA’s
  • Responsible for collating “off the shelf” bid responses using Bid Net and other research and tailoring to client requirements
  • Facilitate workshops with the document authors to develop win themes, story boards and document structure that help the team to produce a clear, consistent and complete submission document
  • Complete prequalification questionnaires as required
  • Develop and maintain the clients proposal document templates in line with company branding or the format agreed with the BDM/ bid solutioning manager and in conjunction with the team graphic designers

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience within a bid team is essential, understanding the bid process and lifecycle
  • Strong focus on attention to detail, proven track record of successfully delivering multiple projects on time
  • Relevant professional experience in supporting business development, including project management of bids, systems and processes.
  • Proven capacity to effectively manage complex proposal development processes
  • Excellent proficiency in MS Office and ideally a working knowledge of In Design
  • Flexible to work outside of normal working hours on weekdays and weekends when required
  • Be a team worker with a flexible approach
  • Sales acumen
