Banqueting Supervisor

Job Introduction

We currently have an opportunity for a Banqueting Supervisor to join our team. This is a great opportunity for a customer focused individual to join a world leading food and facilities management company, which can offer unrivalled opportunities for career progression.

Role Responsibility

Main Responsibilities

  • To ensure that clients and customers are treated with respect and that you go the extra mile to achieve customer satisfaction. 
  • To be polite, friendly and helpful at all times. Deal with individual customer requests.
  • Listen to customer remarks politely and make sure follow up action is taken. Deal with customer complaints and record as necessary.
  • To advise colleagues and customers to help them choose what they would like to eat.
  • Ensure that you are fully aware of all menus and their content. Promote and up-sell at all occasions.
  • To ensure that bills are correct and that all good are charged for. Make the most of sales opportunities by encouraging the customer to buy something new or have extra portions.
  • To help prepare and present food in a way which will encourage customers to buy and enjoy their meals. To ensure all signage, menus are printed and displayed on time.
  • To ensure the work area is closed down in accordance to client rules.  
  • To make sure the banqueting displays are clean and attractive.
  • Take an active part in any unit sales promotions and make your own suggestions to help increase sales. To make informed decisions in the absence of your line manager To take control and use your experience in situation. Be friendly, pleasant and polite to your work colleagues. Encourage you colleagues to perform to a high level. Be prepared to help out the rest of the team in a willing and positive manner.
  • To tell your colleagues what is going on in the unit and be prepared to go to company briefing and training sessions. To make sure you meet the legal and company requirements for fire, safety, health and hygiene.
  • Look out for problems with safety or hygiene and report them to your manager.
  • To wear correct uniform / personal protective equipment as provided at all times. Uniform not to be worn out of work.
  • Report all accidents and near misses as soon as possible to your manager.
  • To come to work regularly and to notify the management if for any reason you are unable to attend.
  • Arrive punctually for every shift. Monitor Attendance and sickness levels.
  • Perform staff appraisals.
  • Conduct investigations. Take part in audits as requested from time to time.
  • Carry out Inductions to site.
  • Carry out basic training needs. Comply with all ISO requirements

The Ideal Candidate

Have all round banqueting and restaurant experience.  

Be able to work on own initiative and manage own time.

Be able to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues and management team

Have good knowledge of H&S and COSHH Excellent customer service skills and safety practices

Package Description

Basic Access NI Required

£10.92 per hour

Mainly involving evening and weekend work. covering 5 days out of 7.
