Assistant Hotel Service Manager

Job Introduction

We currently have an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Hotel Service Manager to join our team. This is a great opportunity for a customer focused individual to join a world leading food and facilities management company, which can offer unrivalled opportunities for career progression.

Role Responsibility

Assist the Manager in the preparation and completion of menu planning, ordering and stock control. Obtaining purchases from Sodexo nominated suppliers.

Ensure that all costs and expenditure are within the budgeted levels agreed between the Client and Sodexo.  Control all costs such as labour, expenses, cash purchases as agreed with your line manager.

Plan and control holidays within the operation to 'self cover' where practicable.

Assist as required in the preparation, production and presentation of all meals and services to Sodexo’s standards and procedures.

'Walk the floor' during service periods to ensure that excellent levels of service are being delivered to the customers.

Supervise the staff in their tasks and organise their hours and rota's.

Comply with all Company & Client policies, site rules and statutory regulations relating to Health & Safety, safe working practices, hygiene, cleanliness, fire and COSHH. This will include your awareness of any specific hazards in your work place and training of staff.

Ensure that all equipment used, is in safe working order and report any faults to management/client

Assist the Manager in administering the payroll for establishment staff via EProfit and maintain personnel records to comply with statutory regulations and Company policy.

Train new and existing staff within Company procedures, legislation and the Investors in People standards. 

Monitor that the standards across the operation are in accordance with the Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators specified in the service contract

Assume responsibility for the establishment in the absence of the manager

Comply with any reasonable instruction from your line manager within the agreed deadline.

Comply with all Sodexo Company policies/procedures and client site rules and regulations.

The Ideal Candidate

Skills required:

  • SVQ in catering or equivalent 
  • Good computing skills essential
  • Experience working in Healthcare Services desirable.
