Assistant Finance Manager (Analyst)

Job Introduction

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Assistant Finance Manager to support our Finance team on site at the prestigious Queens Hospital, Romford.

As Assistance Finance Manager you’ll also act as site Analyst, providing an effective finance and administration support to all internal and external customers, delivering a high quality informed analysis of business performance to support decisions.

You’ll ensure compliance and effective controls are applied and maintained in line with Company policy whilst analysing KPIs and accounting information to understand results and help drive improvement across the site.

Role Responsibility

  • Responsible for raising and distribution of billing in accordance to the contract
  • Assist the management team with production of monthly profit & loss accounts, quarterly forecasts and annual budgets
  • Compile and reconcile budgets and forecasts, in order to assist with target setting and the accurate reporting of financial performance for the contract
  • Raise general commercial and contract awareness across the site to the Sodexo management team and other employees, in order to optimise financial performance within the contract framework
  • Ensure the consistent application and communication of Sodexo Finance policies, process, practices and initiatives (including internal audit compliance), with particular regard to contractual requirements
  • Prepare detailed monthly financial reports and present monthly financial performance to internal customers
  • Devise systems to consolidate both financial and non-financial data from disparate sources
  • Be proactive in looking for ways of improving standard operating procedures by continuous improvement 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Part Qualified / studying for professional exams (CIMA or equivalent)
  • Excellent Excel skills (Advanced as a minimum – macro essential / VBA desirable)
  • Proven and successful Finance Department experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to relate to all levels within Sodexo
  • Ability to adhere to standards and procedures and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • Systems Experience (SAP, Essbase, Excel, Word)

Desirable:

  • Studying for Professional Accountancy Qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA) or “Qualified by Experience” (proven experience in Commercial / Management accounting)
  • Recent experience of SAP MM or other finance systems (Sage, Oracle)

40 hours per week, predominantly Monday-Friday

Flexible approach to hours, especially around month end P&L and budget setting. Flexibility to travel for training and support may be required
