Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Engineer

Job Introduction

Due to a new Technical Services contract acquisition we are looking for a Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Engineer to join our blue-chip pharma company client site in West London.

You should be a qualified and time served AC and Refrigeration Engineer with good communication skills and good working knowledge of Health & Safety.

We offer a salary of up to £40,000, Sodexo employee benefits and various shift patterns.

 

Role Responsibility

  • Undertake maintenance and reactive activity, to a wide range of Air Conditioning and Chiller systems located in commercial and manufacturing/industrial premises.
  • Undertake activity within your competence to support the team in the undertaking of all other M&E building services including but not limited to Fan Coil units, Air Handling Units, general lighting, BMS systems etc.
  • To undertake weekend/out of hours working to complete intrusive maintenance activities that cannot be undertaken in client operating hours.
  • To implement systems that will ensure plant is maintained and operated to its optimum efficiency.
  • Participate in departmental energy saving schemes and promote the understanding and importance of the economic use of energy.
  • Take part in Appraisals/Performance Reviews including the recognition of training and development needs.
  • Work in accordance with the clients Computerised Maintenance Management System.
  • Working in line with the client’s Safe System of Work - Permit to Work System, LOTO System etc.
  • Comply with all relevant Global Engineering Standards (GES) and Local Standard Operational Procedures (LSOPs).
  • Monitor the work activities of subcontractors to ensure their work is completed in accordance with agreed scope, specification, service levels and safe working practices.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified to C&G 2079/11.
  • HNC or NVQ or equivalent in a relevant subject.
  • 5 years’ experience in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems. with a good all-round working knowledge of electrical fault finding associated with Chillers and other FGAS plant and equipment.
  • (Preferred but not essential) Previous appointment as CP for one or more of the following disciplines, Working at Heights, Confined Spaces.
  • Good communications both written and verbal.
  • Numerate and computer literate.
