Administrator (Offender Management Unit)

Job Introduction

HMP Peterborough are currently recruiting for an Administrator based in the Offender Management Unit.

You will provide admin support to the OM Department, manage case load, work/liaise with kep members of the department and be the main point of contact for Residents, Staff and Offender Managers in the community.

We deliver the total operation of five prisons within England, Scotland and Wales and own six Community Rehabilitation Companies in partnership with crime reduction charity Nacro

HMP Peterborough is the first purpose-built prison in the UK to house both men and women on the same site. This highly innovative prison is designed to a high standard of physical security. Sodexo Justice Services has ensured that the prison provides needs-based personal development services for both men and women.  January 2015 saw the completion of a new houseblock on the male estate which can house an additional 292 residents, along with an educational activities building

Role Responsibility

  • Assess and process applications for Home Detention Curfew & Release on Temporary Licence
  • Collate documentation to assist in Sentence Planning Process
  • Provide support to Offender Supervisors
  • Keep records updated
  • Complete Sentence calculations
  • Reply to routine queries from internal departments and external agencies
  • Liaise with external agencies and internal departments on a daily basis

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Clear, concise and accurate written skills, with high level communication skills.
  • Able to deal with confidential and highly sensitive information.
  • Good organisational skills with ability to prioritise work
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good IT knowledge
  • Ability to manage own work load / Team player

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the English legal system

Package Description

£18,478.03 plus benefits including 28 days holiday (inclusive of Bank Holidays), defined contribution pension scheme, group discount scheme etc

Monday to Friday - 37.5 hours per week.
